Brian Tempest
Non-Executive Chairman
Brian has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for the last 46 years in both the discovery and generic pharmaceutical industries. This has included Beecham, Glaxo, Searle, Fisons and Ranbaxy Laboratories. He has managed global pharmaceutical businesses around the world and, as CEO of a listed company, has presented at investor conferences from Las Vegas to Tokyo. Today Brian is also on the Governance Board of the United Nations Patent Pool and is a Non-Executive Independent Director of several companies in healthcare sectors including hospital management, medical diagnostics, packaging and pharmaceuticals. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed Journal of Generic Medicines.
Barney Kent
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Barney is an ambitious and highly accomplished CEO with over 20 years’ experience in medical education. As an award-winning Medical Sales Director at Touch Group Plc, he successfully developed and managed a team responsible for the development of the company’s products and revenue, covering 30 journal titles across 15 therapy areas. In 2012 Barney successfully led the asset purchase of several established therapy areas to form Touch Medical Media (TMM). Since 2012 Barney has focussed on building a first-class team, including multiple industry leaders who, in turn, have been instrumental in developing the company’s products, platforms and partnerships to position Touch as a leading and trusted provider of next-generation medical education. Touch Medical Media believes that the quality and accessibility of our medical education is our most important asset, which is evidenced by the ongoing, rapid growth of physicians visiting our websites from around the globe.
David Noble
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
David trained and practised as a clinical scientist and, prior to moving into the commercial sector, held several academic positions including those at Cambridge University Hospitals, The Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology and University of London. David moved from academia in 1992 and spent several years in the commercial development of drug compounds and clinical trial management. He moved into the communications and education side of the industry in 1998, where he has built a successful career in managing start-up businesses and developing small businesses to the next level. Having held several Managing Directorships, David is now the Chief Operating Officer for Touch Medical Media, where he has overseen a period of sustained growth. Although David’s focus is now commercial, he maintains an active interest in clinical science and is often to be found providing counsel to the Touch medical teams in his areas of expertise.
Alex McDonnell
Chief Financial Officer
Alex began his career as an Audit trainee, before spending several years in Merger and Acquisitions in London, during which he focused on deals in the technology and life science sectors. He moved into industry in 2016 as Group Financial Controller at Monitise plc, an AIM listed tech developer, before four years as Finance Director at Provider Limited, a smart metering solutions provider. He joined Touch in July 2022. Alex has enjoyed a broad range of experience throughout his career, having been responsible for day to day financial management and reporting, as well as commercial negotiations and strategic planning.
